Thread Sketching Free-Motion Basics / Couching & Creating a Landscape

In the first session, members will learn cursive writing by machine-great for labels and signing quilts; basic free-motion straight stitching techniques; free-motion quilting techniques with different thread types; fill-in stitching techniques; and an introduction to Thread-Sketched Portraits and Pen & Ink Tangles.

In the second session, members will learn basic raw-edge appliqué; layering techniques; machine- fed/free-motion couching; and more. Also, how to stitch down different yarns and/or grouped threads to create texture; take a rather plain fabric, add raw-edged piecing, and then couch specialty yarns over it, creating beautifully textured fabric that can be used in endless creative projects.
