Lecture: Round Robins

For most of her life Karen been making art in various forms–weaving, pottery, jewelry, sewing.  Because she loves color and texture, she decided to focus on textile art and after being introduced to quilting almost 30 years ago, it has become a passion.  Karen collects fabrics in all of her travels and also dyes her own silks and cottons.  Karen’s work has been in major national and international shows as well as being in corporate & private collections, books, magazines and a calendar.

For almost 18 years Karen has been a member of an international group of quilters involved in Round Robins.  They’re from many U.S. states and about 8 countries.  Their quilts are passed around by mail, and they see the works in progress and finished quilts by email.  Over the course of time they’ve arranged to meet at Paducah and Houston and have visited each other and been in frequent communication by email.

Karen loves to help people find their creativity…to see that yes, they can be inspired.  Her classes are designed to show how you can use the pattern as a starting point and if you want, change it up, move elements around, and add different colors to totally transform the look of your work.
