February PQG Membership Meeting

Program: "Designing with Negative Space"

SpeakerSylvia Schaefer

February 16, 2023 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Social hour starts at 12:00 PM

HHI Beach & Tennis Resort

40 Folly Field Rd, HHI

Many of us enjoy the modern aesthetic but are overwhelmed when considering designing our own quilt. This lecture gives us concrete step-by-step ideas on how to begin with a traditional quilt block and then alter it to incorporate negative space (also known as background areas). She gives suggestions on fabric and quilting choices for our designs, as well.

Sylvia Schaefer is from "Flying Parrot Quilts". She is a modern quilter with her own line of printed patterns that are sold in quilt shops around the world.
