Our Outreach Program works with local organizations who provide services to seniors, schools and veterans.  We provide wheelchair bags, memory mats and lap quilts to veterans and retirement communities, and offer workshops for local schools.

Outreach volunteers made wheelchair saddlebags for veterans at Victory House in Walterboro, and helped celebrate a “Vegas Day” event by working as “cocktail waitresses”!

Outreach volunteers helped residents at Bloom at Belfair make a wall hanging for their activity room, and educated residents at the Brookdale Hilton Head Village about the art of quilting.

At the Hilton Head High School for the Creative Arts, Outreach volunteers supplemented their assignment on the Underground Railroad by making a quilt that demonstrated a “code” used by runaway slaves, and worked PEP (Programs for Exceptional People) to make a 9-patch wall hanging for them.

Our Outreach volunteers made memory mats for Memory Matters, and helped members of the Boys and Girls Club sew quilt blocks that they had designed.  Our Outreach volunteers spent a great day with the third grade class at the Hilton Head Christian Academy, and showed them how to design their own blocks with paper and colored pencils!

Outreach volunteers presented Trunk Shows at various senior living facilities on the art of quilting.
