The Palmetto Quilt Guild, Incorporated is a South Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting and preserving the art of quilting through our educational and charitable activities.
Our Purpose: Promote and preserve the art of quilting; Educate the membership on the history of quilting, its intricacies and ongoing evolution, and provide the opportunity for education, communication and participation to enhance the member’s enjoyment in the art of quilting; Promote the art and craft of quilting to the general public by increasing awareness of quilt history, design, and preservation through education and exhibits.
Our Community Service Program supports our Lowcountry community by making charity quilts which are donated to local nonprofit organizations who provide relief to the poor, the distressed, the underprivileged, the elderly and veterans or advocate for families suffering from domestic violence, rape or child abuse.
Our Outreach Program works with local organizations who provide services to seniors, schools and veterans. We provide wheelchair bags, memory mats and lap quilts to veterans and retirement communities, and offer workshops for local schools.
The Palmetto Quilt Guild offers scholarships to high school seniors, living in Beaufort County or graduating from a public or private school in Beaufort County, who will pursue an education in visual arts.
