The interactive workshop will explore these "old fashioned" blocks (Bright Hopes, Hexigons, Little Dutch Girl (aka Sunbonnet Sue), Log cabin , Bow Tie, and suggest different ways of making them. Patterns or templates will be available for Bright Hopes,Hexigons, Little Dutch Girl and Bow Tie.

Instruction will be interspersed with very personal connections to the blocks/quilts and the persons who made the quilts you will see. The quilts cover four generations of my family in Virginia.

Both machine and hand piecing are part of the story so come prepared for both. Whether you choose to coordinate fabrics to make the blocks as a sampler or use the opportunity to make "orphan" blocks is an individual decision.

Fun and learning will be the theme for the day!!
